Thursday 1st March 2018
postponed due to weather.

Made up of Danio (vocals & guitar), Pietro (drums & samples) and Tommaso (bass), Husky Loops first met at school in Bologna, Italy. Fast forward fifteen years to a relocation to London to study at music college and the Royal College of Art, they joined forces to form their ultimate creation, which started just over two years ago. Since putting their debut track 'Dead' online at the start of 2016 they immediately gained interest and attention for their unorthodox take on modern rock music.

Afrobeat / Dancefloor Latin / Balkan Bangers / Global Beats / Nu Jazz Bizniz

Camo Clave bring a new "electro-tropical" perspective on Latin music by bringing an updated electronic-laced interpretation of the regions sounds. They transport salsa and cumbia grooves into this era utilising a full sounding 7 piece band with horns, classic percussion section, lead female vocals with synths and effects. Band leader and trumpeter Joe Longridge formed the band following the inspiration of hearing DJs playing remixes and modern dancefloor interpretations of long-established Latin American genres.

Following the band is the global beats club session with Bossaphonik resident DJ Dan Ofer

Sentry Records is one of a collection of Youngsta's imprints in his ever present shaping of the direction of 140. Having recently celebrated their first birthday at Lightbox in London we decided to get them down to the murky depths of The Cellar to explore all things 140. Sentry Records has seen some stellar releases from the likes of DBridge, Nomine, Akcept and with a forthcoming release from Caspa their trajectory is only headed upwards. This time around we've managed to fit Caspa, Youngsta, Nomine & SP:MC on the bill, all at The Cellar.. How mad is that?!

Nothing is stable, everything is usually on the brink of collapse, yet Phobophobes have dragged their weird and wonderful dark psychedelic rock’n’roll into the light of “Miniature World”, their debut album. Their influences are widespread - and atypical - with the music closer to the spirit of apocalyptic garage rock than it is to consumer pop. Think Wall of Voodoo, Joe Meek and Leonard Cohen via Monty Python and The Magic Roundabout. Phobophobes are a reminder that rock’n’roll can, even as the last embers fade, continue to mean something beyond an Instagram post and the search for five minutes of fame. They are at their best when performing live.

Self Help are a boy-girl-boy-girl trashy garage-pop punk band from Oxford. They've got a name for themselves for their energetic and fun live shows - according to Nightshift Magazine's Paul Carrera, they sound like they’ve ‘been on the fizzy pop’. Self Help was conceived when songwriter Danny met drummer Silke backstage at a gig at the Oxford O2. Realising a shared love of indie, garage and 60s pop, they jammed and gigged together as Din Twins, liking to combine the upbeat and hooky nature of garage and punk with the depressing reality of life.

Corporate greed, arms dealing magnates, the über-rich and the dirt poor in a deteriorating uncaring urban landscape with no infrastructure that's riddled with fear and crime. Paul Verehoeven's brutal social satire seems uncannily astute these days as we watched in real time as Detroit went bankrupt and became a war zone. This one's a sure-fire sell out and like me, you're  thinking I'd buy that for a dollar!
